Our client was looking for an animated re-creation of their existing print campaign. Creative Director, John Lionti, wanted a two-spot package that stayed absolutely faithful to the original print campaign, and to treat the serious subject matter of hospice care in an appropriate light. End-of-life decisions are, under the best circumstances, fraught with emotion and on its surface, character animation might seem an odd choice for the heavy subject matter. However, the beautiful design work by illustrator Valeria Petrone, and the storyline of the spot demonstrated that animation’s emotional reach extends far beyond Saturday morning cereal commercials.
Our animators used AfterEffects as well as traditional, hand-drawn animation to give the spots a more organic and fluid movement.
